Automotive Technician Accreditation is based on National Occupational Standards to ensure that it meets the skills requirement of the retail motor industry. Accreditation is valid for five years. Accredited Technicians must have current experience at the level they wish to be assessed.
GTG offers a wide range of ATA courses, all of which include a series of tests and various prerequisites
Prerequisites
Minimum of two years' industry experience.
Accredited Technicians must have current experience at the level they wish to be assessed.
This training is only appropriate for technicians who are updating previous training experience.
TECHNICIANS MUST PASS A SERIES OF TESTS (LISTED BELOW) AND AN
ON-LINE KNOWLEDGE TEST
• Braking systems
• Engine electrical systems
• Engine mechanical
• Vehicle safety and documentation
PLUS TWO OF THE FOLLOWING TRANSMISSION SYSTEMS
• Vehicle electrical systems
• Wheel alignment and steering
