Vehicles are becoming increasingly more complex and sophisticated, therefore the need for competent technicians has never been greater. The Automotive Technician Accreditation (ATA) has been developed to identify these highly trained and skilled individuals.

Automotive Technician Accreditation is based on National Occupational Standards to ensure that it meets the skills requirement of the retail motor industry. Accreditation is valid for five years. Accredited Technicians must
have current experience at the level they wish to be assessed.

GTG offers a wide range of ATA courses, all of which include a series of tests and various prerequisites.

TECHNICIANS MUST PASS THE TESTS (LISTED BELOW) AND AN ON-LINE KNOWLEDGE TEST
• MIG welding to BSI standards
• Spot welding to BSI standards
• Rectification of panel damage - panel beating techniques
• Preparation, application and finishing of cold filler
• Panel removal and replacement procedures - bolted and welded panels

Prerequisites

Minimum two years' industry experience in an appropriate role
