This course trains employees to ensure that their actions contribute to Health and Safety in the workplace relating to Display Screen Equipment (DSE) and that individual responsibilities are clearly understood. Ideally the course should be delivered as part of an induction programme, but it can also form part of ongoing safety training.

Who should attend this training course?

All employees have responsibilities under HASAWA. This programme is suitable for all employees, to increase their awareness of DSE issues whilst at Work.

WHAT DO EMPLOYERS HAVE TO DO TO COMPLY?

The Regulations do not contain detailed technical specifications or lists of approved equipment. Instead, they set more general objectives;

Employers have to:

  •  Analyse workstations, and assess and reduce risks where required.

 Employers need to look at:

 The whole workstation including equipment, furniture, and the work environment

  • The job/task being done
  • Any special requirements needs of individual staff
