Course Description
This course is designed to inform and update delegates knowledge of drivers hours and tachograph rules for goods vehicles in the UK and Europe.The course covers - basic introduction to a tachograph, basic introduction to an official journal of the European communities, vehicles exempt from use of tachographs, keeping of records and inspection of discs, driver's hours, limits and rest periods, digital drivers card, digital modes, digital tachograph menu, tachograph rules and compliance of drivers hours and regulations.
Prerequisites
No previous experience is required.
Who should attend this training course?
- New entrants to the transport industry or those wishing to refresh their knowledge
- Also operators and drivers who will be required to use digital tachograph equipment
- To enable delegates to stay within the limits of the law regarding drivers hours
- Daily rest periods / breaks from driving times and domestic rules
- How to use a digital tachograph correctly
- Receive information on driver smart cards, company smart cards, tachograph operations, mode switch requirements, universal time co-ordination, manual entries and how to produce print out reports
- Refresh the candidates' knowledge on the legality of driver's hours
- This will count towards one day of Drivers CPC Periodic Training
