Are you complying with Health and Safety Law?
To comply with current Fire Safety Law's, it is a legal requirement for all premises to have a fire risk assessment carried out. Owners, directors and managing agents are not only at risk of invalidating their insurance cover, but they could also face personal prosecution or even imprisonment as a consequence of non-compliance. The responsible person must carry out a fire safety risk assessment and implement and maintain a fire management plan. In effect anyone who has some control over premises must take reasonable steps to reduce the risk of fire and make sure people can safely escape if there is a fire.
