Course Description


Fast paced and constantly changing, the IT industry guarantees an exciting job filled with variety and plenty of opportunity. Almost all organisations have a need for IT and as technology becomes an ever increasing part of modern life, the career prospects are endless.

Working directly with their employer, apprentices will work within their company's IT department and cover a host of topics from administration and IT trouble-shooting to applying security measures and using application packages.

Regular assessment and reviews will ensure apprentices achieve the required skills to successfully complete their Modern Apprenticeship.

Entry Requirements:


3 Standard grades, grade 4 or above in English, Maths and one other subject

To achieve this award candidates must complete 1 mandatory unit and a combination of optionals that must total the required credits needed for the relevant level (see table).

 Modern Apprenticeship

To achieve full MA status candidates must also complete 4 Core Skills. These core skills - Numeracy; Communication; Working With Others; Problem Solving - should be completed to Intermediate 1 standard.
