The Motor Vehicle Technician programme allows apprentices to put theory into practice within an automotive training environment. Covering all aspects of vehicle repair and maintenance, apprentices also have to complete a portfolio demonstrating newly acquired skills and knowledge gained throughout the programme.
Apprentices will attend GTG's training centre on weekly block release, where they will be assessed and guided through their training and development.
Regular assessment and reviews will ensure apprentices achieve the required skills to successfully complete their modern apprenticeship.
This programme covers the following areas:
- Vehicle servicing
- MOT
- Removal and replacement of major components
- Electronic fault diagnostics
3 Standard grades, grade 4 or above in English, Maths and one Science or Technical subject
GSCE grades in English, Maths and Science/Craft or Technical subject at grade C or above
Each apprentice will complete the following recognised qualifications from either SQA or I.M.I. Level 3,
in Vocational Award in Motor Vehicle TechnicianModern Apprenticeship in Motor Vehicle Technician
