GTG Training Becomes a DSA Approved Testing Centre

GTG Glasgow has become the first DSA Approved training centre in Scotland to carry out LGV and PCV Driving Tests

GTG Trainings , the purpose built training centre in Glasgow , offers a wide and extensive range of transport related training courses. The training company has continually looked for ways to expand its course repertoire, and as a result now offers onsite Car and Trailer (B+E) training , LGV , PCV and Forklift instructor and driver training , as well as many classroom based courses such as ADR and Drivers CPC .

GTG has recently taken its innovative practice even further, and has been approved by the Driving Standards Agency (DSA) to carry out LGV and PCV driving tests from the centre on South Street, Glasgow. This makes the centre the first DSA Approved Training Centre in Scotland, and as a result, the only training centre that holds the privilege of offering these tests. GTG can now give its trainee's continuity and convenience in their training experience, with everything they need in the same location.

The process took over a year to approve due to stringent guidelines set out by the DSA. These included specific guidelines to adhere to in order to fit in with the strict health and safety requirements. Manoeuvring area dimensions, reversing barriers and examination rooms all had to be thoroughly checked and passed by the various union representatives that visited GTG throughout 2009.

Transport manager Billy Hammond states "We started the planning process long before we actually applied to become a test centre. This was something that we had planned to do before the new centre was even built on South Street. The 300 x 60 ft manoeuvring area out the back of the building is one of a kind and by meeting with the guidelines set out by the DSA, we have managed to create a unique centre where delegates can complete their practical training and test all under the one roof".
