GTG Training is delighted to announce that it has become the only training centre in Scotland to offer irtec training for commercial vehicles.
Irtec is an independent and renewable accreditation scheme that assesses the competence of technicians working in the commercial vehicle, trailer and passenger carrying industries.
Jim Hendry, Head of the Craft Department at GTG Training said, “We are delighted to be setting the standard for commercial vehicle technicians throughout Scotland and further developing their skills for not only themselves but for their employers.”
The premier technician accreditation scheme for the road transport industry, irtec provides technicians with formal recognition of their skills and through irtec, technicians and mechanics can add to their qualifications and demonstrate that their skills and knowledge are up-to-date.
An irtec licence proves a commitment to safety and demonstrable professional development by both the technician and employer and in view of this, technicians who take the irtec test are assessed on their theoretical and practical skills and, if successful, are awarded an irtec licence.
An irtec licence certifies the individual, rather than the employer, and can be used to demonstrate a common standard of skills from one company to the next.
