GTG Training, Glasgow’s new £10million training and conference centre, was officially opened today by Lord Provost Bob Winters.  Guests from various sectors of Scotland’s business community were in attendance to see GTG Training showcase its outstanding facility.

The 61,000 sq ft centre is split into two dedicated sections; the fully operational transport division caters for every aspect of automotive training whilst the IT and business skills division provides a broad range of business skill training courses and has a superb conference area. Offering an exhaustive list of training courses from PRINCE2™ and First Aid at Work to Fork Lift Instructor and LGV Driver Training, the new centre is tipped to become a welcome and prosperous addition to the Clydeside.

GTG is part of the Arnold Clark Group, synonymous with the motoring industry and run by Scottish entrepreneur, Sir Arnold Clark.  With over 145 retail outlets throughout the UK, Arnold Clark is one of the UK’s most successful privately owned companies. Sir Arnold comments, “A company’s most important asset is its people and with over 8500 employees, training is paramount to the continued growth and success of our organisation.  It is vital that we provide the best training possible and offer continued personal and professional development to all employees.  Likewise, this is an area all organisations in all industries should be focusing on and I am delighted to be able to offer them the platform from which to do so.”

With 14 meeting rooms and a spacious 200 seat theatre style conference suite, GTG is ideal for small or large conferences, meetings and intimate banquet dinners as well as providing an innovative arena for product launches.  The atrium at the front of the building can also be utilised for an event, with the 20ft windows making this an excellent space for showcasing products and hosting launches.

GTG Training’s main conference suite features the 8.4 Modero View Point (MVP-8400) – a wireless touch panel control system which takes the art of presentation to the next level.  Superb graphics and the ability to configure DVD, CD and laptop information seamlessly makes this the item of choice for all top meeting venues.  In addition, all meeting rooms are fully air conditioned and wi-fi enabled, as are all public areas.

David Scott, GTG’s chief executive comments, “Today was an opportunity for us to showcase the new facility and demonstrate its many capabilities.  We already have a well established presence within the training industry and now with the additional practical training zones and superb conference facilities, we have an exceptional facility which will appeal to a wide variety of users across a number of sectors. “
