This is a 10-day, instructor-led course conducted over two to three weeks with the course covering the following modules:
- Unit NG1 – Element 1-4 - Management of Health and Safety
- Unit NG2 – Element 5-11 - Risk Assessment
The NEBOSH NGC course consists of 2 assessments.
Unit NG1 includes the open book exam (OBE) which is designed to test your knowledge as it would be used in a workplace scenario.
Unit NG2 is a practical Risk Assessment the aim of which is to demonstrate that you have the skills to complete a Risk Assessment in your workplace.
Once you have completed your exam you will have a closing interview.
This is Nebosh Certificated.
Who should attend this course?
The NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health is a qualification for people who are involved in health and safety at work or are embarking on a career and are new to Health and Safety. This would include newly appointed safety advisors with limited experience, managers and supervisors with responsibility for health and safety and safety representatives. For those appointed as H&S safety advisers the National General Certificate should give an adequate base for their work.

- EXAM - Online through the NEBOSH portal
Risk Assessment - This is conducted within the delegate’s own workplace. This is a practical and written assessment. On completion, the assessment is to be submitted to the course provider within 10 working days of the final theory assessments.
The exam is an online exam.
Once you have completed your exam you will have a closing interview with the instructor and another Health and Safety Trainer.
The NEBOSH National General Certificate does not require any previous Health and Safety Knowledge.
