Apprenticeship benefits for businesses

Inject new life into your business

Apprentices inject new life and energy into a business, and help you to boost overall productivity.

As soon as an apprentice starts their training course at GTG, they are employed – allowing them to earn a wage while they learn new skills and gain a qualification.

How apprenticeships work for employers

Training will take place at your workplace and at one of our centres. To make sure the training is right for the apprentice, we devise a training plan at the start of the apprenticeship which is agreed by everyone involved – the apprentice, the employer and GTG Training.

Employers who have taken on Modern Apprentices are overwhelmingly positive about the experience: 96% say those who undertook a Modern Apprenticeship were more able to do their job. They also praise apprentices for improving productivity, staff morale, service and product quality.

Course duration and cost

The duration of the courses can be between one to four years, depending on the course. Course cost will vary depending on circumstances and funding may be available.

How an apprenticeship can benefit your business

  • The average apprentice can deliver productivity gains of over £10,000 per year.
  • Apprentices bring in fresh ideas and energise other employees.
  • Apprenticeships result in a more skilled and loyal workforce.
  • There’s funding available to support you and your apprentice.
  • The best part? You’ll know you helped someone get into employment.

Apprenticeship Levy

The Apprenticeship Levy is part of a government initiative to get three million apprentices in training by 2020. Certain employers will be required by law to pay money into the levy. If the criteria apply to you, you may have some questions about apprentices, training, and what it means for your business. We’re here to help answer those questions for you.
