How the assessment works
Apprentices will take part in presentations, classroom discussions and practical demonstrations. The apprentices will then complete written outcome assessments to pass each unit on the course. Apprentices will demonstrate their practical knowledge in the fire and security industry. There are 13 industry standards, also known as NOSs, that the apprentices must learn. To demonstrate their knowledge apprentices will submit written log books and photographic evidence while on site to prove they understand and comply with the relevant standards. GTG assessors will also visit apprentices on site to carry out observations in the workplace. All of this work is uploaded to an online e-portfolio.
