Basic Hybrid Knowledge and Safety

This course is designed for technicians who maintain and repair hybrid technology vehicles, but not hybrid system itself. It contains the knowledge required to work safely around a vehicles hybrid system, while carrying out repairs or maintenance.
On completing this course, technicians will have gained both knowledge of high voltage hybrid technologies and an understanding of their dangers.

  • Identification of the components that make up the hybrid system.
  • Safety Precautions to be taken before carrying out any repair procedures on hybrid
    vehicles.
  • The identification of high voltage cabling and associated components.
  • The precautions required when working with hybrid components.
  • The possibility of the hybrid system affecting repairs on other vehicle systems.
  • The procedures required to make safe the hybrid system before carrying out repair
    activities.
  • The precautions taken prior to removing and replacing high voltage components,
