Course Summary
This course is designed to refresh technicians who may encounter electric/hybrid vehicles within a routine maintenance situation. It also contains the knowledge and skills required to work safely around a vehicle that may have had damage to its high energy/electrical systems. The course will include the following elements:
- Multi-meter testing on circuits, series/parallel. High resistance, open circuits
- Understanding of safety critical equipotential bonding
- Ensuring vehicle shutdown procedure as per regulations
- Testing of AC/DC convertor using amps clamp + meter
- Insulation testing on motors and cables

Level 3 award in electric/hybrid vehicle system repair and replacement
