The IOSH Working Safely course is suited to anyone who is looking to learn the foundations of health and safety in the workplace and does not have the responsibility of managing health and safety in the workplace.

If you’re responsible for managing health and safety in the workplace, you may be better suited to the IOSH Managing Safely course.

In order to obtain your IOSH certificate, you must answer a series of multiple-choice questions.

The assessment will be based on your knowledge and understanding of:

  • Defining hazard and risk
  • Identifying common hazards
  • Improving safety performance

IOSH stands for the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health. Founded in 1945, IOSH is an organisation with a simple vision – a safe and healthy world of work for everyone.

Whether you take an IOSH or NEBOSH course will differ based on your role and responsibilities. IOSH courses are best suited to those looking to develop their knowledge and skills for day-to-day management of health and safety in the workplace.

NEBOSH courses, on the other hand, are best suited to anyone looking to pursue or progress their career in health and safety. These courses provide a much more in-depth knowledge of health and safety principles and practices.

The IOSH courses at GTG have a high pass rate on average, however, it’s important to note that experiences will differ on a case-by-case basis. Participants who actively participate and are well-prepared for the course will find the course more manageable.

Plus, our expert trainers have years of experience delivering health and safety training and will be on hand to answer any questions you may have throughout the course.

To keep your knowledge up to date, IOSH recommend that you complete a one-day refresher course every three years.

Upon successful completion of your course, you will receive your certificate from IOSH within four to six weeks.
