Course Summary

This course is designed to develop the skills of abrasive wheel operators to instructor standards according to the schedule of the

Abrasive Wheels Regulations 1970. Delegates will learn the legal aspects of the Abrasive Wheels Regulations in relation to the training requirements.

Course Prerequisites

Must have experience of using and operating an abrasive wheel

Please ensure you bring your abrasive wheels operator certificate with you.

Learning the legal aspects of Abrasive Wheels Regulations relating to training requirements

Learning how to inspect an abrasive component before fitting to a machine.

Identifying abrasive products, with reference to British Standard Marking System for Abrasive Products.

Awareness of current Health and Safety Legislation, in relation to the use of abrasive wheels.

Awareness of the need for wearing PPE, when using Abrasive Products.

Demonstrating controls and starting procedure for fuel driven saw.

Being able to change a blade on an abrasive product (including how tight the new blade should be).

Anyone with knowledge of abrasive wheels who wishes to train others in the correct methods and techniques of setting and dressing abrasive wheels.
