Course Summary

This course provides a grounding in the essentials of health and safety. Everyone at work should have an understanding of why they must 'work safely' and this course offers exactly that. The course introduces a completely new approach to health and safety training, offering all the basics in a high-impact, interactive package.

This qualification was developed by industry in partnership with the construction industry training board (CITB). From 1st July 2014, people wishing to apply for a CSCS green card need

  • To pass a level 1 award in Health & Safety in a Construction Environment (or hold a valid Site Safety plus Health & Safety Awareness course certificate)
  • Pass a CITB operatives' Health, Safety and Environment test within two years of applying for a new card.

Course Prerequisites

There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification. It is expected however that learners will have a level of literacy adequate to cope with the examinations by understanding, reading and writing in English.
